Fundamental Keelboat Sailing (ASA101)

Find out the fundamentals of cruising keel ships of 32 foot including sail theory, language, repetitive rehearse, security, basic chart work, Rules associated with the Road, man overboard drills, intensive watercraft docking practice and instruction; USCG demands and more. Four-day training course including principle and useful exercises aboard the vessel. Pupils successfully completing this course will get ASA official certification. No previous knowledge required. Live aboard during the course. Classes carried out in Chesapeake Bay and Caribbean.

Sailors with adequate past knowledge can challenge the ASA101 Standards, if they are using the ASA 103 amount program, by passing a written assessment and demonstrating hands-on skills throughout the ASA103 course.

Fundamental Coastal Cruising (ASA103)

Docking a large cruising motorboat safely and without harm may be an intimidating task particularly when the wind blows 20 knots. Bow sprits and marriages are often broken or seriously damaged in the process. We have created a hands-on docking practice system on Island Packet 32 base cruising yachts to assist all sailors, whether experienced or beginner, to understand the very best methods for docking. Students successfully completing this program and learning the ASA104 guidelines can receive ASA 104 official certification and can have the skills necessary to independently seaside cruise boats of the type. · St Thomas, USVI: Beginning to Intermediate Sailing Courses on a deluxe Island Packet 440 cruising boat; live aboard courses with five or fewer pupils and the teacher for eight days. Two levels of ASA official certification (ASA101 & 103 or ASA103 & 104) designed for skilled pupils. All of our teachers are USCG certified captains and ASA licensed teachers whom also teach-in our Rock Hall courses from May to October.

Regarding the first class day we prepare the precise destinations the week in addition to meal menu, search for drink and food terms, and start our course classes.
